high pitched noise.

this weird noise has started, its there when moving and stopped, clutch engage or disengaged and in or out of gear. no louder under braking or accelerating and sounds like a really high pitched whistle, any chance there is a seal gone somewhere in the radiator cap, or somewhere in that system that would cause something to whistle out without actually leaking fluid??

and no, its not the missus on the back, she usually follows a high pitched squeal by either a) punching me in the kidneys or b) shouting not in there ;)

sounds as though it could be something electrical to me. i know my hids do it sometimes while warming up and i think its the relay buzzing at a high rate which sounds like a quiet squeal.

Does it continue for any amount of time once the engine's been switched off?

update time. i took the airbox off to find a peice of random paper sat stuck on the intake hole and only left a small-ish gap to let the air in, and when engine turned off, it still stuck there, so it wasnt going anywhere aha, so i took it away and lo and behold, the noise has gone :) thanks for all the input guys

haha wasnt inside, was on the intake snorkel, and i think some form of grease or grime was holding it in place when the engine was off.
