well my rear tyre is pretty much bald but thought id check to see how bad it was and found that the wire cords are hanging out of the outer edge now theres about 5mm+ worth of tread on this particular bit

any chance avon (storm 2 ultra) will give me a new one ?

Give Avon themselves a call and explain what you've found. They may ask to see the tyre back at their factory for a proper evaluation.

I wouldn't want to be riding on a tyre that has snapped cords showing through the rubber. Replace it and send the old tyre back to Avon for evaluation and see if they send anything back. I reckon you've damaged the carcass by riding over something nasty that's been bad enough to do just that amount of damage to just that area. It doesn't appear to be damaged anywhere else, and the tyre is just about knacked so don't count on getting a freebie.

Apart from the obvious safety aspect the tyre is illegal with that damage on it.Three points and up to £1000 fine IIRC.

all comes around in one go as usual mot is 22nd of this month (aug) and the cars off the road for repairs my insurance ran out Friday...

Allready going through the process :) have been in contact with the m/c product manager and he has referee me to the customer service manager and I'm just going through the process of sending the tyre of ect
