Insuring a gsxr front end
This may seem an odd question but..... How do you explain the gsxr front end change to your insurance company?
For those that have done it, how did you explain it to your insurance? I asked my insurance company today what would happen to my policy if I did the change and they said they would not insure me......is there a way of describing it to insurers that they are more likely to cover it? Cheers. |

Re: Insuring a gsxr front end
Yeh thats what i started off saying, and then they asked what parts I was upgrading too
|
Re: Insuring a gsxr front end
How did you describe it to them?
I added upgraded brakes and suspension onto my express insurance policy and they said not a problem, didnt even effect my premium. |

Re: Insuring a gsxr front end
I think they did ask if they were aftermarket parts or OEM and I said "well they're for a suzuki"
|
Re: Insuring a gsxr front end
Well, i started off by saying "Im planning on upgrading my suspension"
Next question "is it a performance upgrade" ok il ask the underwriter......... "what parts are you upgrading to and why" |
Re: Insuring a gsxr front end
What did you answer to when they said "performance upgrade"?
My responce is "no it doesn't increase power" I describe it as upgraded suspension and brakes. This year it was almost impossible to insure though, something's changed. |

I described mine as that with the current insurer. Like the exhaust makes a performance increase of less that 5% of claimed manufacturers output. |
Re: Insuring a gsxr front end
I went through it all being 100% honest and got told that coz I am under 25 i couldnt insure it. I would assume that if you are over 25 it is possible, but more than likely to cost. I told them it didnt increase power, but they still deemed it a performance upgrade. just my 2pence worth, so good luck with it all. will be keeping an eye on this thread to see how it goes
