Sv 650 2007, unusual pop sound from front of engine.

Hello,

I have owned my 2007 SV since June now and have ridden it everyday and racked up just under 2000 miles putting me at just over 10k now. It was serviced last at 8274. So its well maintained. However today coming of the motorway and downshifting a pop came from the front of my engine, as if the spark plug was popping/misfiring. I have no idea what it is or if i am correct in what i am purposing, however i have noticed this a couple of times now and always made sure i have ridden it quite hard to make sure its not effective performance.

Any ideas? I plan to put it in for a service just before 11,000 to make sure its still running correct.

Ben

Check the front plug isn't unwinding itself.

Does it happen at all revs or at any particular speed , backing off the throttle etc etc ?

Only Backing off the throttle on downshift where you start to get the lovely v twin sound. From there if i go to blip the throttle to downshift again or pull away i found it does it. However this is only a few times i've heard this noise however it does feel like its got no power when it pops then comes back on.

Lozzo - Could be correct in what your saying but i have no idea where the front plug is. I have only been under the tank once and that was to see what was there. (saw 1 spark plug right under tank).

Rough idea if this is damaging the bike ?
