Naked conversion
Hi all,
Sorry if this has been asked before.... I'm looking at a 2002 Sv650s but it's not a naked bike, I want to turn it into the naked version/street fighter look. My question is, when I start removing the faring will I be left with unsightly brackets on the frame etc? Also....:) how do I go about raising the bars? Cheers Lee |
Re: Naked conversion
Brackets won't be your problem - they're all removable.
Hiding all the excess wiring will be where the pain is. Lots of other things to solve - fitting clocks and lights for example - there's a variety of choices. For the bars, you can try and find the top and bottom yokes from a naked bike (although you'll be lucky - they're like hen's teeth). Alternatively, some have drilled the existing yoke to fit risers. Do a forum search. It's been done and discussed many times on here. |
Re: Naked conversion
best to buy a naked bike to begin with, far easier to convert it rather than turning an S into a naked. Nakeds are cheaper to buy and cheaper to insure

Re: Naked conversion
Where bouts are you? Someone could lend you a hand when you get the bits and bobs. The vapour clocks look pretty sweet, bandit clocks have been used as well. As for the loom, just hide it under the tank with some ninja zip tie action. Lights can be sourced on the bay depending what style you want.
I would either drill the yoke or if your feeling rich get the comfort kit for the curvy as this will have the longer throttle and choke cables you need |

Bollox. Thought this said 'Naked conversation', and was expecting something interesting...
PM Yorkie_Chris, he's just done a curvy naked conversion for his girlfriend, our very own MissYorkie_Chris. |
