Is our TV license fee being spent well ?

Or should it be being used for some spelling lessons.

Tonight on BBC3 I saw this gem :

They are spending so much money moving to Salford and paying fat cat salaries to senior managers it's not a big surprise they can't spell doctor.Much like the rest of corporate Britain it's all pigs to the trough while there are still pickings to be had while the organisation goes downhill.

God bless the TV licence which has given us the most awesome TV and radio broadcaster in the world. There's a programme on BBC TV and radio every day which is worth £8 a month! I don't want UK tv to turn into channel 5 and Sky 1! Look at what happened to the Australian and Canadian broadcasting corps when they ditched the TV licence (they went bad).

Please let's not call it a tv license, it's a BBC tax, end of.

I lost faith when I found out some of the salaries they were paying people, the obscene £18m a year to Jonathan cu**y Ross to name one.

the thing about Public Service Broadcasting for me is that Channel 4 manage to do it with adverts, so why can't the BBC?

We need the BBC and Channel 4, there needs to be diversity in broadcasting in this country rather than the bilge that is on ITV (pro celebrity lawnmowing, who's got the most 'talent' a dead fly or a screaming cat? etc.)

Apparently(according to a BBC news programme last week) the Scots don't like paying their TV license, as there isn't enough Scottish based programmes, news, or anything for them on politics on the BBC. They say its far too English orientated.

Well I don't like paying my TV license full stop.......hows about that!

lol that's poor!

Wouldn't mind if they put adverts on tv, they basically do now anyway with their own adverts. But I'd hate it if they got adverts on the radio stations. Can't stand listening to the local stations hearing the same crappy adverts over and over all day.

Despite my rant above about corporate greed and financial incompetance I also agree with the licence fee in principle. It's just the people who have inserted themselves in high positions there that I object to.Someone I know very well used to work there prior to one of the redundancy culls,so I know a bit about the beeb.Just as badly run as any other large organisation.

I'd pay more if I could have ITV and C4 & 5 without adverts tbh. We get round it anyway by recording everything (we've got 4 recorders around the house) and watching everything about a week behind. It means I have to steer clear of reviews of something I haven't seen yet but it means I haven't had to watch an advert for years.
