Vibration all but gone.

So for the last 12-18 months, my SV has gone silly with vibration.

Even stood still, revving the engine to 4k or over, you could noticeably feel strong vibes through the bars. Arms were getting numb on the daily commute (<1hr) and track days were a real pain as I'd invariably need to pull in towards the end of a long session, especially as the day moved on.

I did all the required servicing, oil/filters, plugs, valve clearances, balanced the throttle bodies but still it gave bad vibes. Noticed in the last few weeks I was getting around 20 miles less per tankful too.

Today I checked the Scotoiler reservoir and filled it up (was on empty and probably had been for last week or two). Gets on the bike to go to work and WOW! it was VERY smooth.

All the way into the office, it ran quieter and smoother than it has for about a year!

Wracking my brains to understand what could have changed, the only things that have changed recently are me filling up the Scotoiler today (but I do that regularly anyway) and the bike blew over in the wind the other week...but was still vibey after that.

Just trying to make sense of the fact that all of a sudden, it's stopped vibrating.

Then again, now I've written all this, it'll probably be back to bad vibes again going home tonight

This is gonna sound like a daft question, but I've only been riding a couple of weeks.

What is a scotoiler and scotoiler reservoir?

Ok, Im'm not technical, so feel free to shoot me, but don't scotoilers work off a vaccum pipe from the carbs to regulate the flow, they're not a gravity drip device.

So presumably with an empty bottle, that say isn't sealing, is it possible that air was being introduced into the carbs?

It's a k 8 so no carbs. The vacuum take off is on the throttle bodies.
