GSXR race fairing

I have got a fairly tatty k3 GSXR 1000 race fairing on my supertwin, now that the off season is approaching it is time to take action, so i am currently considering my options! I may possibly buy a 675 fairing to fit, currently there is an entire kit for £170 +p&p on ebay! or the other option may be to just dickey up the current fairing, I have heard mention else where that some people actually cut down the GSXR fairing to make it narrower! Has anybody got any details on this and how much is removed etc?
Many thanks

Have a chat with Fast Druid he did this on his. It looked like around 2" down the middle of the fairing.

Looks like an umbrella without it.

Mine has a 675 fairing on it, you need to watch the link pipe where it is at its lowest point to make it fit properly and bring it forward a bit to miss the bars.

The 675 option certainly looks good on the SV and has a useful front opening for any cool air ducting ideas.......... they are certainly made better than some of the lighter weight fairings around.

Do you reckon most of the 675 fairings available are made to an acceptable level?
cheers
