To sell or not to sell?

I dont seem to be using my SV at all at the moment & have had a word with Rictus on how well the Triumph copes through the winter months. He says that the Triumph does a lot better than the Suzuki, so have been wondering what to do with Custard.

I've had a customer in my shop asking where the SV was, we got chatting & he has offered me £1000 for it. I am now in a quandry on what to do. I love the SV to bits & said that I would never sell it, but it's just sat in my shed looking sad & forlorn.
What do the folk of the mighty org think? You may help sway the decision one way or the other. :)

Is there someone close to your heart that might like to learn to ride? ;) ;) ;)

My goodness Mike, she's just had a ring off me, I can't let her have the bike as well lol. ;)
I have asked her, but she said that she can't afford to do her test & i certainly can't help on that side, we will see how it goes, I might change my mind by tomorrow :)

TBH I don't know what it's worth. Curvys seem to go for anywhere between £800 - £1500, so dont know where to pitch mine. I know that it has some trick stuff on it, but like I said to Luckypants, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it

Hard to really know looking at your avatar alone, but id say it was probably worth a touch more than £1k.

I was looking for a good 3 weeks and the prices are mental as you say, two almost identical bikes can vary so much in price. but assuming decent mileage, service history while in your ownership, and good condition, plus trick bits, id say more like £1300.

The question is, why is the SV not getting any use at the mo? Is the weather really bad where you are?

I also have a Triumph 955 Daytona that I absolutely hated just after I bought it, but have gelled with it now that I use it all the time. I was thinking of using the SV as a winter hack, but after speaking to Rictus (who's owned a Speed 4 for the last few years) He reckons that the Triumph's finish will stand up better to the winter conditions.
I have sank a lot of money into the SV, but it was to my personal taste & I don't think that anybody else would be interested in the way it is now. I do have all of the original parts, so can be put back to standard very easily.

Well if its only going to be a winter hack there are plenty of other bikes that will weather the winters better, and alsomore useable in all weathers ie snow than an sv. its your call at the end of the day, but if there is something elae you think you'd use more....
