Instrument LEDs and Carbon fibre wrap
 

I've seen that a few on here have fitted LED bulbs to the instrument panel and was hoping that i could get some advice on which ones to buy. I know that some of them do not distribute the light to well. so if anyone has any recommendations of type and colour could you let me know. I'm also thinking of having a go at using some carbon fibre effect vinyl wrap on a few small places but have heard that the quality of the vinyl can vary depending on where you get it from so if anyone can also point me in the direction of a good supplier that isn't to expensive it would be much appreciated.

what you want is proper 3M textured carbon vinyl. More expensive than the crappy stuff, and for good reason.

As for LEDs, just search ebay for "wide angle 286 LED"
colour is up to you at end of the day, but i have yet to see a coloured dial set i prefer over white.

I was probably going to stick with white LED's but if anyone has any pics of different colours i'd be interested to see how they look.

will try and remember to take a pic of my leds, as i use 3 different colours across the speedo and rev counter, makes a change from white :p

heres a pic of the 3 colours, pic a bit rubbish as my camera is pants, but you get the idea. The red doesnt show up too well in the pic (middle of the 3 speedo/rev counter LEDS.

Do the colours look better in person than in the pic. The light coverage doesn't seem very good at all from the red led.

The red isnt too great to be honest, but better in real life. Im tempted to try a green one in there next or another blue as that works very well on the rev counter. Very VW`ish :smt116
