My last GSXR front end question.
Hi guys, so I've finally managed to source what i think is a complete front end from a GSXR 1000 K4. These are the parts included:
Forks Bottom Yoke Top Yoke and nut Front Wheel spindle and spacers. Front Wheel Brake calipers Brake disks Brake lines Left and right handlebars Throttle Brake lever Clutch lever Mudguard Is there anything else I need? Bearing in mind also that I have TL1000 clip ons do I needed the gsxr handlebars? Thanks again all, George |
Re: My last GSXR front end question.
If you have TL1000 clip ons, they should fit. You'll need to sort out the speedo with a Hall effect sensor and some magnets.

Lovely :)
2 Questions.. How much should I pay for that whole set? Is it worth upgrading to steel braided brake lines? Thank you :) |

Would these do alright.. The other option was "full race length layout". The front end is coming from a K4 GSXR 1000. |
Re: My last GSXR front end question.
How much is it going for?
I paid £300 for a pretty much complete front end (incl. 2 wheels, although 1 was dinged and cracked when it was straightened). Usually ebay is around the £300 mark for complete forks/calipers with another £100 or so for a wheel. However, this time of year stuff is usually a bit cheaper as not many people riding/crashing and therefore looking for repairs. So, supply and demand and Winter is the time to buy, Summer is the time to sell. |
Re: My last GSXR front end question.
Right so I got given a quote this evening.. This is what the seller has said:
"Forks £250 Top Yoke £40 Bottom Yoke £70 Left bar £35 Right bar £35 Two front disks £75 Two front calipers £78 Front brake master cylinder, reservoir and bracket and front brake light switch £19 Front Spindle and Spacers £16 Front Wheel £135 Mudguard £38 All of the nuts and bolts to go with the above, including steering stem nut and bolt and brake lines would be free to you. Personally I'd buy some braded hoses though myself to show it off a bit. I could also sell throttle plus cables, clutch lever and perch and switch gear but I'm fairly sure the stuff you have would fit so don't waste your money until you've tried them. front tyre £10 if you want it and you would have a choice between black or gold front wheel. minus discount for cash on all of the above. plus postage by courier (or come collect?)" So I'm obviously going to negotiate a bit but what do we think is reasonable for the above items? Also is he right in saying that my clutch/brake line/throttle will fit fine? Thanks :) |
Re: My last GSXR front end question.
Completely up to you how much you spend on stuff, the only advice I would give you is to look around and do plenty of research before buying anything. Don't rush into it, especially not at this time of year, bide your time, keep an eye on ebay and what's selling/what isn't, if items don't sell, it can still cost people to relist, so keep a track of what's moving and what isn't and be prepared to make offers if items finish with no bids.
In terms of the prices you've listed above, they do seem on the high side when compared to the forks and yokes listed below, which are newer. 2010 GSXR forks = £225 no bids 2010 GSXR top/bottom yokes = £80 no bids K3/4 Gixer thou front wheel and discs = £140 1 bid (as an example only, not to fit the forks above) So for that lot there you're looking at £445 plus delivery, to get the same bits from your guy, you're looking at £570 plus delivery. |
