Crashed or simply fallen apart. Mclaren made a big point of saying the cars would be perfect and complete game changers... Yet they have been constantly breaking and there's a never ending list of recalls and retrofits.

I know of two people that have both rejected cars and returned them for full refunds + interest. Although mclaren will have you believe they were sold back to them.

Ron Dennis even wrote personnel letters to owners apologising. I bet none of that was covered in the programme.

As for " fitting the pistons in the cylinder head " haven't done that since my Austin 7!

Going for the high compression approach? The late 3 bearing ruby head was great for specials out of the box!

Overrevved it & when pressed the clutch pedal the crank bent, centre pot rings came out of bores & it went BANG!
That took a lot longer to explain, but drove it home though.
