best wet tyre road / race?
i am still undecided on which tyre to buy...
approaching the really cold wet weather (possibly snow) what tyre would anyone recommend for wet roads, soft with high silica compound. maybe someone who races in the wet can suggest the one they use? would be good to get about 5k out of the tyre too.... ::stupid question alert:: tyres made for the wet be ok in the dry too? i.e. will they wear out quicker? |
Re: best wet tyre road / race
Racer use "not for road use" wets.
They will last about 200 miles (if your lucky) in anything other than very damp conditions. |

Re: best wet tyre road / race?
If you want a proper wet that's legal for the road then the Avon Pro Rain is brilliant. I use the front one in particular all the time and it lasts reasonably well provided you don't push it to much in the dry (I have two front wheels and put the wet one on for playing in the rain). If you want something a little less extreme then the Dunlop Mutant is a good compromise. I use the rear one wet or dry at this time of year.
