Must have spares

Hi all,new to this forum and racing, just after some general feedback on what people consider are neccesities in the spares box.So far alls i have are a few levers and some clipons, dont want to go over the top,any tales of what breaks most, and bodges for sv. Also are any other front master cylinders compatible with the sv,off other bikes? Regs permitting of course.Thought i would start there, and an end can.Not had an off this year, must try harder!

i'm in no way into racing, or the mini twins stuff. I am jsut thinking about stuff that breaks duing the crashes i've had. I'd also say foot pegs, might be a good idea to have a couple for each side

As far as im aware your M/C must be a standard sv item but can be off a newer model like a pointy one on a carb model not that the pointy ones are upto much lol, if your bike dosnt need 2 be under minitwin rules then get a brembo 19x20 or 18x19 M/C

Nah mines pointy and real sharp, just wondering about inter-changeability on the master cylinder, ie maybe a gixxer one,600 or 1000 .

:cool:Oh yeah,if you like Brembo check out them Accosato ones, just like Brembo top of the range ones, but cheaper.Excellent quality, had one on my firestorm. Made in Italia and quality.

If your racing Minitwins:

- Levers
- Clip on's
- Rearset spares and bolts
- Crash bungs and bolts
- Spare Grips
- End can that works with your fuelling set-up
- Tin of nuts, bolts and washers
- R clips
- Lockwire Kit
- Tyre changing kit and rubber
- Sprokets (to re-gear between sessions)
- Motor oil
Edit: Also the customary zip ties and good gaffer tape (small drill too)

If your likely to have problems:
- Spare brake set-up
- Cables
- Chain and,
- a good mechanic!!!

If your thinking M/C's Brembo are the best.

Re: Must have spares

If you fit a mastercyl off a naked carb or injected its got a built in reservoir and crashes alot better.
Easiest/quickest route with footrests is a complete spare set of cheapy rearsets, bolt whole side on in a crash, repair the other, keeps bike mobile, nothing worse than faiiling scrutineering with a binding lever from rushed repair.
so:-
levers, bars, clutch perch, grips, throttle tube (c/w switch gear if poss) bodywork, gaffer tape, strips of alloy, cable ties.......... more you take the less you'll need!!
