Van insurance renewal

Proper annoyed :(

My van insurance runs out on the 20th of this month and had my renewal through and its now £560, 2 years ago it was £280 and ive made no claims whatsoever, its so fecking wrong.

Just called my insurance and they wont budge on price, not even a penny.
Called direct line insurance and they want £1024 :smt022, im 41 years old, live in a decent area, van on drive at night, 6k-7k a year etc etc, this is taking the p1ss, im a low risk so why is it they are trying to shaft me.

I had a asian delivery driver reverse in to my parked van in 2009 while i wasnt in it, claim settled with me not at any fault, im convinced its related to this, my renewals have gone up loads since then.

i hate motherf***ing insurance companies with every cell in my body, they are just monopolising, robbing sharks.

Not happy atm

I did go compare earlier and cheapest on there was £542, so i just did it again and removed the non fault accident in 2009 and guess what?
New lowest quote £461, so the ba**ards do penalise you for non fault accidents.
Anyway, tried to ring the insurance compamny offering this quote and they are closed until monday now so did same quote again but added the accident again, its same price £461, well confused now

Something for you to try Specialone. Do an online quote but when it asks where is it going to be parked, put on a public road. I was always under the assumption the cost would shoot up but I saved £150 compared to having it in a brick built garage. Crazy I know.

You think thats bad. I paid £990 in 2010 and it went up to £1354 in 2011! I have never made a claim, 5 years no claims etc etc blah blah good area, parked on drive blah blah.

Rang Admiral and saved £440 this year though ;)

Its the prang that is doing you, even if it was someone elses fault and you didn't claim. Insurance companies reckon once part of an accident, you are at a higher risk of being in an accident again...so therefore bump up your premium.
There was a watchdog thing about it a while ago....and this particular scenario came up.

If you were officially involved on paper, then your cards are marked
