aaaahhhhh, sprouts. they are like Marmite.

i used to hate them with a passion till i tasted properly cooked ones. my mother used to boil them till they were mushy but i have a secret to perfect sprouts. i jest not as i have converted another life long sprout hatter. cooking them is a bit like the bears porridge, it has to be just right or they can be to crunchy or if over cooked to bitter.

I love sprouts, but I can't eat them any more as they give me real bad gut ache.

Sprouts and parsnips are my fave veg. Oh, and peas out the pod.
Especially love sprouts raw, all crunchy with that peppery taste.
Raw rhubarb too, mmm

I have plenty of parsnips in the veg garden if anyone would like to pop round to get some. Unfortunately the sprouts were chomped to the ground in early summer by beasties and did not survive.
