Got me an SV650, now to get my licence.

Hello All!

Just bought me a 2006 SV :o Wasn't due to get one till later this month, after passing mod 1 & 2, but this came up for a reasonable price and looked perfect. Now got an awesome bike but can't ride the damn thing....

Obligatory pic:

Currently riding an RS125, used for uni and commute down to London once a week. Finances are tight so will be selling it, would love to keep and convert to track ;)

Will be upgrading various bits over time, got my eye on a decent adjustable shock and some fork springs. Anything else to look out for, bearing in mind being stuck at 33bhp for two years? (which is insane, I've been riding from the age of 12!?)

Hopefully will meet some of you down the line, looks a good forum.

oh, and does anyone have spare L/R mirrors? Bike didn't come with any...

Good evening and welcome to the loony bin. Smart looking bike - looks better without ears (might fails it's MOT though!?)

OK Zain

When you got some £ you might spray the hugger to match the rest of the bike.

And get shot of that bloody rim tape, it's hideous.

Good luck on the test/s:D

Nice bike, shame about the rim tape :pukel:

Good luck with your tests :) Are you booked in for them?

How frustrating must that be, nice bike no licence?

Ignore the rim tape fashion police, it looks fine ;-). As said, shame you got to put mirrors on, looks quite slick without.

Good luck on the tests.

Few words from the most sensible on here...

Good luck with the test.
Lose the rim rape.
As you've got a black frame, the hugger is fine black.
Sell it in 12 months and get a triumph.

There, hope this helps :)

Thanks, look forward to it! No need for mirrors to pass MOT, think it will only be daytime though. Wouldn't dare riding without, don't want to get sideswiped by some idiot cager...

Glad to see people agree, wasn't sure about the tape either. Will replace with some blue tape or leave blank. That will come in a couple weeks though, priority is to ride it first!

Cheers for this - not going to be able to afford the expensive set, cheapy cheap it will have to be. Though I did notice SoulKiss on here just bought a new set, wonder what he'll be doing with his current ones ;-)

Tests booked for this week and the next - no training so will be practicing at the local car park. Even so, would be horrific to fail....
