Shocks are expensive. Get what you pay for though I guess.

Not sure what the ruling is for mini twins, but if you can put parts from other bikes on then you could get a better shock. I picked up a zx10r shock for about £60.

Re: race shock

You can use any shock (at least for BEMSEE you can).

Generally people look for Ohlins, some go for Penske.

The Ohlins set is between £500-900 depending what you get etc. They are fully adjustable.

You can get an upgraded shock by using parts from other bikes - only way to do it on the cheap.

dont bother with gsxr/zx10 etc not good enough on track, nitron sport unit is £300 and loads better, built to your weight too, track unit is £500

Re: race shock

If you can't afford a new or used aftermarket shock, a better shock from another bike is an improvement. It won't work as well as a true race shock, but it will work. A lot of us poor guys here in the US race on a used shock from another bike. I run a ZX14 shock on my 07 Pointy, as it is a good fit length and stroke and the spring weight suits me (I'm a big guy). It is also somewhat adjustable. You can always buy a new spring for a used shock if you're trying to get closer on your setup.

Hope this helps.
