:lol: I got black listed by BT when I was a nipper for using an automatic redialer to reconnect me to the internet when they disconnected me after 4 hours. That was against regulations apparently. Thing is, I was actually waking up in bed, looking at the modem light, and if it was disconnected, getting out of bed and reconnecting. Cheeky fekkers! All that effort, getting up out of bed 4 times per night to reconnect, just so I could download a crappy version of Lord of the Rings and I got unfairly banned for using a redialler! :lol:

NTL - free dialup but with a 5p connection charge and then you were disconnected after 2 hours.. Funnily enough the line started dropping out after an hour at busy times so you'd have to reconnect..

Then the advent of having 2 phone lines arrived! No more having to disconnect from the net for an hour while mum phoned auntie betty in scotland (after 6pm of course)

you have me wondering now if you could record dial up noise to a C90, take it to your friends and copy the tape.

hmm, perhaps not as the noise would be both ends of the conversation, foiled at the first hurdle.

Actually in that clip it hasn't even finished handshaking, although it DID connect at the originally requested speed.

I do remember a website where you could download a wav, record it to tape then load it into a Speccy

Aww man, I remember! I used to stay up at night because it was 'off peak' package...endless IRC chats at Final Fantasy Online lol! they were the days :).
