GPS on Android phone
I've just got myself a middle of the road Android phone (Galaxy Ace)
Now I'm looking to get a GPS app for it can you guys give me some advice on which one will be the best for me? |
Re: GPS on Android phone
I acquired co-pilot live, I could not get it to put a decent volume into the autocom so went for N Drive.
TBH neither are much good, dodgy navigation, I set up N drive to favour the back roads on the bike and it took me 5 miles out of my way to return 500 yards up the road from where it deviated, lesson learned when I want to go somewhere new I have it set to quickest. |
Re: GPS on Android phone
the google maps navigation is good tbh but i use co pilot (paid for) and think its worth the money. no issues with volume

Re: GPS on Android phone
My tracks is pretty good at recording a route. Allows you to see map of route and stats. I use it when going for a walk or a run. Not used it on the bike yet.
And its free. |
Re: GPS on Android phone
I have co pilot live on mine. Used it to go to Devon last year & it took me straight there, no problems at all. I used it with an earpiece, so could listen to music on my phone whilst riding. The nice young lady used to butt in & tell me which way to go.
I've also used it in the car, it's never told me to turn around like any other GPS systems seem to, it just reworks the route for you. I like it. Tried the Garmin one, but didn't like it at all. It was a case of "Turn Right................Long pause...............in 200 yards" Just didn't know which turning to take lol. |
Re: GPS on Android phone
I use Google Navigation which is perfectly fine around London.

Re: GPS on Android phone
Thanks guys. I like google maps so google navigation may well be the best bet to start off with.
Its not as if I get lost with a map and a clear mind but I do like the idea of it for the monthly runs and other jaunts on the bike... |
Re: GPS on Android phone
Another vote for co-pilot.
Running it on my Samsung Galaxy S2 work phone works surprisingly well. |
Google nav is great till it needs to re route and you don't have signal!
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk |
