Curvy projector headlamp refit.
 

I've never been happy with the lights on the Curvy S. I have fitted 55/60w Nightbreakers, run relays behind the lights so the low gauge Suzuki wiring cannot cause issues (volt drop with relays was 3v less than without) and still don't find I can travel at the national speed limit comfortably.

I'm thinking its the poor design of the lenses and reflectors that's the problem and not one that's fixable without replacement.

So 2 possible plans are this:

Make the bike into a naked and fit a decent headlamp

Build a custom frame to take a couple of these:

I think these would look fine showing in the nose of the curvy.

Opinions? Anyone used lights like these on a build and can confirm that they would be an improvement over stock?

I could either fit 1x dip and 1x main or possibly use a bi-Xenon unit for dim / dip operation.

Are there any bikes out there which have something similar that may be a cheaper option for sourcing the units?

get a euro light and convert to uk legal left side dipping, its possible ;)

Go for the halogen projectors. They are awesome!

See here for a beam comparison. Obviously your standard lights will be better than my old dominators but the projectors will still be 10 times better. The bi xenon's I had weren't reliable, and the high/low flicker would get stuck sometimes. Personally I don't think the xenons are necessary now that I have the halogen projectors

Is it worth getting a race top fairing and then you can fit just about any lights you like to it in a stylish manner , without cocking up the standard fairing !?

Mister C did projectors with the Uleses fairng he had.

Cheers for the ideas, race fairings look nice but part of the reason for this bike is its a scruffy sv which is ideal for being parked on the street and not getting nicked. Pimp it too much and it might wander off.

I think I will pick up a main and dip set and fab up some brackets. The standard lights might cover the project cost once I ebay them.
