Engine 'dress up' kits?
Hi all,
I am just wondering if there were any off the shelf engine dress up kits for the SV, as I am only using the engine in my project and its all on display I thought that I might look into upgrading the looks of the engine. I have seen somewhere you can get transparent clutch covers which look rather cool, I also know you can get a full anodised bolt kit for the whole end (or indeed upgrade to titanium bolts!). I am just wondering what people have fitted to their engine/bolted onto it to make it a bike shinier! :smt083 Has anyone got CF rocker covers etc? I know on some bikes - mainly dirt/put bikes, there are a lot of bolt on parts, not sure whats around for the SV? |

Re: Engine 'dress up' kits?
This is the source of the clear clutch covers, one left
http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=161458&page=14 Not sure if there's any other engine covers available, except for Woodcraft clutch covers. There might be some carbon jobbies which the racers use? not keen on anodised bots unless they're black or silver |
Re: Engine 'dress up' kits?
I use the stainless bolts for SV's on ebay when rebuilding an engine

Re: Engine 'dress up' kits?
Yeah im ok with bolts etc, I think I might get bolts anyway as they will accent the engine etc, can get any colour I want from Probolt. Yeah those are the clutch covers I saw, look pretty cool, I have also seen Woodcraft clutch covers that are CNCed as well, I han't seen any CF ones, I guess I could wrap it in CF lol

Re: Engine 'dress up' kits?
Not a fan of Probolt myself (infact I think its overpriced tat) most stuff I will get from engineering suppliers who supply good quality fastenings for a fraction of 'motorcycle suppliers' prices

Re: Engine 'dress up' kits?
Top man, thanks for that link, looks like that the complete set of all of the easily removed sort - ie no the ones holding the case together! Hmm my engine is an earlier carb model rather than the 02-08 model, I think the bolts for the clutch cover are slightly different? Would they be interchangable?
