Alternative rev counter?

Hi all,

I am just wondering what sort of rev counter would work with the SV engine? The engine will be for race only so all I need to know about is the revs, I can get an oil pressure gauge easily put on due to where the oil filter is, so its just the revs I need.

couldnt you leave the standard clocks on, or you planning on ditching vast majority of electrics?

The engine won't actually be in the bike, its a carb engine, so won't have an ECU plugged in either, im not sure what usually wires into the OEM clocks?

It's a fairly simple setup to the tacho - live, neutral and trigger from a coil.

I can get a fairly cheap tach, but they are ment for cars, so only go up to about 8k, which isn't really any use lol I have seen that I can make an LED tacho, but in not sure how bright they will be.
