FI/F1 warning light, no fuel pump noise.

Hey guys
I have a small problem on my K6 12,000mile SV
I recently done a full service in the last 1200 miles which consisted of: new engine oil, new chain and sprockets, new spark plugs and new break pads.
600 of those miles after the service was on a road trip to newquay.

But anyway, when i go to turn the key on the bike, the normal buzzing sound of the fuel pump, (presume its the fuel pump that makes the buzzing) that lasts a few seconds, dosent happen and i get an F1/FI warning in two places on the dash. I would then simply turn the bike off and back on again and the problem will resolve itself 8/10 times

I have had a look in the manual but cant find anything to do with F1/FI warning lights

Does anyone on hear know what it means and how i can stop it?

I have been riding my bike a little harder than usual recently with the nicer weather if that makes any difference to a diagnosis :smt102

Re: FI/F1 warning light help

Dirty/loose connector and/or switch somewhere along the kill switch circuit if you check the CHEC message. Otherwise check the fault code it gives you.
The downloadable K3 PDF manual gives all the fault codes for a K6

All electrical connections are fine and sound

PAIR system hoses

Radiator temp sender connections

Spark plug caps (make sure they are fully home) doubt this would throw an FI warning.

Gear position sensor connections inside sprocket casing and end connector.

I too having been getting this, ****es me off. When it first started happening i use to just flick the kill switch on and off and it would be fine but now that don't work, i find i have turn the ignition on and off a few times before the fuel pump decides to prime. Sometimes i'll switch it on and the fuel pump will start to prime and then just stop and i get the FI warning, turn the ignition off and then on and its fine.

There must be an exact answer to this.

i've had this problem as well, and i've been told its something to do with the side stand connection - i normally have to push the side stand up and down a few times and then the fuel pump primes..

Interesting, come to think of it, my side stand is currently covered in $hit, will give it a good clean this weekend and see if it happens again.
