Heated Towel Rail Opinions
We have a 500mm x 600mm rad in our 'small' bathroom, we are redecorating it and we decided we want to put in a 600mm x 1800mm flat chrome towel rail, now i know the heat output will prob be less than a standard rad but we are not that bothered, also measuring up etc we should not need to alter pipework. I was wondering what peoples opinions/thoughts on the are.

So will it be plumbed in like a rad or will it be run from the flow/return? With the latter you get dry towels in summer but a rather warm room.

Re: Heated Towel Rail Opinions
As long as you size it right (btu's) then they are good, I fit tons of them and recently put one in my own bathroom, it's brilliant and keeps our towels warm and dry :)

Re: Heated Towel Rail Opinions
I've got a water rad and next to it a leccy heated rad with a comedy 1980's ticking timer.
Always thought it a bit daft, so I'd be interested too |
Re: Heated Towel Rail Opinions
I ended up having to put a proper rad in the bathroom as just a rail was insufficient to heat the room.

Re: Heated Towel Rail Opinions
Will be plumbed in in place of the Rad, we like the look and have no where to keep towels other than on the bannister on the landing and they take an age to dry, not to fussed about the bathroom being baking hot as the window is open most of the time anyway.
The rail has a slightly lower BTU rating than the Rad that is there, but as I say I'm not hugely fussed. |

Re: Heated Towel Rail Opinions
I have one it was in the bathroom when we moved in. It was Plumbed like a rad just off the floor and looked ****, I re-fitted the bathroom and moved it up as it's a 1000*300.
With the size you have i would imagine that the heat should be good. mine is very poor it's cold in the winter. if you have small kids i would be aware that they may get burned if they touch it. All mine is good for is burrning my Ass in the middle of the night when pi$$ed having a Pi$$ :) They do look good though. |
