Refitting standard exhaust can?
Thinking of getting a standard end can to replace the one on mine. Mine is a w reg 2000 curvy if that helps. Seen some on ebay but refer to K3, do the pointies fit the curvies?? If anyone has one lying around let me know.

Re: Exhaust can
Forgive me for asking but WHY? If you're going to change the can there's a hundred alternitives out there to choose from other than standard.
I can't imagine it's the standard cans looks that appeal. Is your current exhaust too noisy or just in rubbish condition? |
Re: Exhaust can
You are forgiven :D, it's a loud blueflame. Great sound but it just isn't me, plus it wakes my 3 year old up in the morning. Just bought bike so just looking for a cheap original to fit first.

Re: Refitting standard exhaust can?
Mine is the Evo too
Dipper, I'll consider it, though have just laid out a fair chunk on the bike and gear so trying to keep spends down. I might decide I don't like the standard so just looking to get a cheapie off ebay, does one size fit all?? |
Re: Refitting standard exhaust can?
If you can get the baffles I'd go down that route if I were you. It dulls the sound MAHHOOOSIVELY. I can't imagine that a standard can wouldn't wake up your little one less often than a baffled blueflame.
Just to add that on trackdays with both baffles out on my old SV the bike felt so different that I had to always have one in. |
I got a replacement baffle direct from blueflame when I lost the original.
It cost me £30 posted but they also sent the circlip that holds it in so no drilling of holes required like the universal ones. Took about 4 days to arrive. Number is 01695 733100 If you also need the blank that fills the smaller port they sell this too. Only a couple of quid extra. hope this helps. |

This is mine at the minute. Forgive my lack of knowledge. I can see the bottom is blanked off.

Ok. You already have both baffles in. If its too loud for you as it is then its gotta go.
Personally I'd ask on here for opinions on an aftermarket alternative. To refit the standard you'll need the reconnecting sleeve as the stock exhaust will have been cut off. So add this to the cost of a standard can and you may aswell buy something sexier anyway. P.s. I sold my evo for £100 so worth cleaning up and flogging. |
