people on phones

just about sick of it. the weather is already bad enough . so idiot came within an inch of my front wheel because he decided to change lanes, while on his phone not giving a S***. The speed limit is 50mph if i was to come off i doubt the car behind following closely would even be able to stop before hitting me.

Even when i'm in the car with the GF, and she is driving i constantly tell her not to use her phone and she doesn't listen to me. Not to mention some her dangerous driving antics which really annoy me and her bad road rage issues.

I may not be the law but if someone generally wants you stop being a bad road user and they ignore you, what hope does the law have, as police cant be chasing everyone up all the time.

rant over.

now to go to guildford and get wet doing so

Simple, take out your phone, film her, report her to the police giving them the video as evidence.

Otherwise you are just an accomplice and have no grounds to complain about this issue when others do it.

Milder version, refuse to get in the car when she is driving.

I hate it when people use their phone while driving too. If you want to use it while driving go buy a £15 bluetooth kit and stop endangering peoples lives and your own.

Parked outside the school yesterday I photographed one of the mums driving her 4x4BMW with a phone to her ear.In an impolite posh voice she asked what I was doing and I said it depended on what obsenity would come out of her mouth next and suggested that as she was apparently so rich why not invest in a good hands free system.
Probably just a waste of time but I had the pleasure of upsetting her

This is even worse because modern BMWs have got bluetooth capability built in to the stereo system. Mine has it and it works very well, she should use it.

I just take up a position next to the drivers door, keep pace with them and leave my thumb on my horn. Thanks to the wonders of Stebel they cannot continue their conversation :)

I've recently taken to shouting at drivers of vehicles, especially if they have the window down. My favorites include:

"GET OFF THE PHONE"

"USE YOUR INDICATORS!" - for people who insist on taking the exit immediately before yours without indicating so you could have safely pulled out or people who leave their right turn indicator on when leaving the roundabout..

"USE YOUR FECKING MIRRORS YOU DOYLEM".. one lad on a scooter shat himself because he'd taken the racing line around a corner immediately after a set of traffic lights; he hadn't bothered looking anywhere but forwards so he got a fright when he realised he was about 12 inches from me on my pushbike and I was shouting at him.

Shame you can't sign up as a special for the traffic division. I'd happily do all my production work on a night and at weekends if it meant I could help out with educating drivers on the dangerous little things they do without even realising.

Paging officer pete, permission to come for a ride along plz

Yesterday was a good example why we arent allowed to carry guns anymore legally, i would be sitting in a jail cell right now.

Coming over a one way bridge, a van driver, who shouldve waited as i was further across than him decided to chance it and come across at speed, i had to brake hard and put it in to reverse as he didnt seem to be slowing, car behind hastily revesed too, he comes past with a fecking phone to his ear and oblivious to whats going on.

I had my window down and gestured to him 'put your f**king phone down', he just give me a dirty look and carried on at speed.

I was so angry (stupidly cos i hate getting that wound up) i wouldve just opened up on him had i been armed, pure rage does that to people :(

Also, the phone to ear is only part of it, hands free is just as bad, the act of putting it to your ear is irrelevant, its the conversation that distracts you, ban calls altogether, end of.

In a sane world cars would have an in-built jamming device to stop people making calls whilst inside them. But of course the passengers would then moan that they could not have an innane for-the-sake-of-it "'cos like I got inclusive calls innit" conversation. Sat next to a moron talking drivel on his phone all the way to London once like this, one call after the other.

Make calls expensive again so people think twice about using their phones!!! Then perhaps suicidal pedestrians would pay attention to the cars around them BEOFRE they step off the pavement...

Oh you're definetely not on your own Paul. I find myself constantly shouting at these types. I never use the phone whilst driving. Its not a hard thing to do IMO.
I'm sick to death of being out with Oli in the pram and are crossing roads. The amount of people who seem to think I am telepathic and know which direction they are going is unbelievable. I tend to be able to weed out the doylems who can't be bothered to indicate so stay put on the curb, but shout 'INDICATOR YOU MORON' when they fail to use them. Thankfully so far I have been successful in not being mown down by a prat on a phone, failing to look at the surrounding hazards, with no indication lights flashing!

Prime example of phone to ear, little asian lass, in very small micra type car, full of crash marks running down the side. Phone in hand, up to ear, then not, then ear, then steering wheel, whilst going across traffic to turn right, attempting to beat the lights as she goes. I felt like throwing a loaf of bread at her!
