Re: Does anyone rent a garage from their local council?
Hi
The reason I ask is because I do & have just been down to mine & it`s flooded along with the roof leaking Ruining some stuff . Has this happened to anyone else on here? whereabouts do I stand in regards to claiming for damaged stuff - can I? I have photo`s / video`s of it with the water all over the floor & me sweeping it all out. Thanks |
Re: Does anyone rent a garage from their local council?
No idea, but as a starting point - is there anything about it in the contract (specifically stating that all maintenance is the owners job). If it doesn't then I would assume (as with a rented house) the structural maintenance liability lies with the landlord - or in this case, the council.
I would say give them a call tomorrow and see where you stand. Again - I'm not expert, haven't run into this before - but just giving some steps that I would go through! HTH |

Hi
Nah the only thing it states is if there is a problem to contact them and they will rectify it asap, but nothing about compo etc. I`ve emailed them earlier with vids / stills of me c"dealing with it" :-) Thanks for your reply JB - i`ll update this as and when. |
