Ayup there SV owners!!:smt041

Been hunting around on t'internet for info and stuff on the o/h's SV650s and no matter what I am looking for this site keeps poppin' up so I thought it about time I registered and said hi.. So, Hi... :D

My name Rich and I have an 09 Aprilia Tuono and 2002 GSXR600 track only bike but I used to be the very proud owner of an 06 SV1000s, fanflippin tastic bike which really got me in to v-twins and to be fair I reckon I would still have it had I not test rode the Tuono! All you v-twin fans on here really need to get yourselves a go on one!
The o/h is Lesley and she is now the very happy owner of a 1999 SV650s in red, lovely bike with low mileage which we picked up for, what I think was, a steal! Tho this bike is now the reason for browsing this site and now registering..

You see, turns out the slight oil leak from the clutch cover is, how can I put this, a common problem! :smt073 What can I say, spent ages last night reading other threads on here regarding this so now, thanks to this site, I know that it may be better left to be what it is, a slight leak! We shall see!!.. I know which end of a spanner goes where tho so may just dive in one day and have a go :thumbsup:

Anyhow, hello peeps and if I can work out how I shall add some photos :D

Yup, thought a new, metal, cover looks like the way forward! What is the best make?...

Thats where we are based, just south of Birmingham!...

think the only one easily available is a woodcraft one.

just buy a new oem one, cheaper by a long way

It was amazing, got given the tickets for free so we made a night of it and spent what we would've on tickets on a hotel and plenty booze!! Only prob being the tickets were seated and right at the back but it was still great! Think they tour often so maybe next year you'll be lucky..

maviczap, will try shortening the metal inserts a tad at work 1st before spending anything!! Tight wad you see, save the money for fuel and tyres!! lol
