Cyclists... mini rant :)

Had to take the cat to the vet this morning and since i need the excercise i thought I'd walk home instead of paying £5 for a taxi... walking across the Narrow footbridge over the motorway I feel something nudge/bump me from behind... turn around and there is, what i could only describe as a *** on wheels giving me the beady eye and shaking his head...

yeah, he was clearly trying to get past but FFS was it necessary to ride into me?? and bar the fact that there is a MASSIVE sign just before the bridge that says CYCLISTS DISMOUNT, the bridge ain't wide enough for two people let alone a cyclist and me :) When I politely pointed out the sign to him he replied, "i dont need to follow the rules, I make my own" and off he went... tutututut :toss:

Funny thing is that this was a respectively dressed well spoken man and not some skanky yob..

I have tried to be patient with cyclists while on the bike after someone posted on the org about them being slower etc etc, (it was a food for thought moment) but it just takes one **** on wheels to make me dislike them even more..:smt019:rolleyes: horrible things those cyclists ;)

anybody else had "encounters" with a **** on wheels?

Don't need to tarnish us all from the attitudes of one cyclist!

Report it to the police.

He was cycling on a footpath and assaulted you by hitting you.

He probably uses the bridge daily at that time, so there is a chance he will get caught.

He has stated he is above the law - maybe some nice policeperson would like to prove him wrong.

You get ****s on motorcycles, in cars, driving vans, driving lorries, etc etc so why be surprised if some ride cycles? Treat a cycling **** the same as any other ****...

Now if he had done that to me, I'd probably pitch him off his bike over the side of the bridge and onto the motorway (well in my head anyway) and shout after him, I make my own rules too...

I have to agree that there are some right tits on bikes, even if I am one of them!

I wouldnt have moved out of the way while I pointed out the sign.

Then I would have had the chance to reply, "so do I", and make him wait whilst I loitered about the bridge for a while... Or thrown the bike over it, that would be fun.

lol a LP.. he was bigger than me :) i did laugh it him which probably made him even more irate - maybe he was late for a very important business meeting :) hehehe

SK - not too bothered, he'll do it to the wrong person one day and LuckyPants justice may be served :)

+1 (not the part about you being a tit :-D)

As a cyclist, I would've dismounted, I can't stand these kind of people who think they can ignore the rules & signs

Next time stick a big stick through his front wheel for instant retardation, so it might knock some sense into his big thick head.

You have my permission as a cyclist to do this, as ones like this don't do us any favours
