Curvy too low after changing to GSXR shock.
Swaped oem shock for GSXR one http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=178664. It took me god few hours as i'm not very expirienced with spaners and the result is disapointing cos back end droped a fair bit and dosen't even look right. Gave it a try and it doesn't feel to bad, only a little slower at turning. So can I use different dog bones (shorter I think) to jack it back up? Or is there other way to do it? Difference is now I can put my both feet flat on the ground, before I could only just touch the ground both feet.

Re: Back end to low after changing to GSXR shock
Drop top yoke down the forks a bit (10mm or so) so more of fork shows above the tope yoke.

Re: Back end to low after changing to GSXR shock
they are 15mm sorter than standard which equates to 30mm at the back. i think the lowest you can go on the front is 15mm so your still 15mm out.
if i were you i would get links that raise you 20mm (shorter by 10mm) and drop the front 10mm as you say you fit better with it lower. |
Re: Back end to low after changing to GSXR shock
shorter suspension links (dog bones) will lift the rear of the bike...if you look on e-bay for sv650 jack up kit there is some on there for 16.99 + 2.00 p+p....if you can work out how much height you`ve lost as there`s 25mm, 30mm and 40mm kits.

I'm not sure If the pointy dog bones are the same as ones for curvy. If they are then I'll have them. Can someone confirm?

Re: Back end to low after changing to GSXR shock
Didn't realise you were fitting this to a curvy. That means you're actually *edit* 17mm shorter than stock, so more like *edit* 34mm at the rear. It's 10mm shorter than a stock pointy shock.

Re: Back end to low after changing to GSXR shock
so I could actualy do with 40mm jack up kit but is there one for a curvy anywhere?
