SK3 Buying advice?
 

Hi guys

New to the forum and am after some advice on what to look for when looking over a 2003 model to buy..

Not much really, pretty bomb proof bike but check rear shock, they typically last around 20-25k, check that the rear brake lever and gear lever work properly as these can seize up as can brake calipers. Check for engine knocking or strange noises as K3 cranks aren't the strongest.

Bear in mind that the k3 (and some early k4 models) is a bit of a ******* case, having different rear subframe, rider seat, fairing infills, longer mirror arms, different rearsets and probably more stuff that I have forgotten than all other pointy models.
A few k3's slipped through the net at the factory with the rev limiter set 1000rpm higher than normal also, topping out at 11400rpm rather than 10400rpm. I can confirm this ;)

Think i have found a nice one with fsh...had a quick look at a er6 tonight on 57 plate.....jeezuz.dreadfull finish on the kwak's...did not like atal..
