SV650S Fully Faired Bar Rising?

Hello,

I am hoping you may be able to help. I have bought the Mrs an SV650S K8 which is fully faired, but she is struggling a little and seems to be too bent over, no comments ;o), when riding. How best can we go about raising the bars?

I am also considering lowering the bike for her. Is this easy? What suggestions for this please?

Thanks for your help.

Chris

do a google search for sv650 comfort bar kit. this changes the clipons for bars and an upright riding position.

you can lower the rear using longer dogbones (don't go more than 15mm) then drop the front 10mm and scoop the foam in the seat or get a lowered seat. all this should lower the bike by a good 30-35mm

For a less radical bar position change ( than the full comfort kit )
raised Clipons are avaliable that can be swapped in:
Hellibars, Accossato 4cm raised bars. and others.

This is how I did it. I am not helping though because I skinned my knuckles on the throttles and am sulking! ;-)

problem with being short is that you don't have the reach so just raising the bars but keeping the same position is useless as your still stretched over the tank and your arms are forced straight.

east peasy solution is to just take the TB's/Carbs out as it only takes 2 mins since you have the airbox and gubbings off anyway. by the time you have guddled about trying to get the cable nipples on with the TB's/Carbs in place you will have finished the job.

Well you could have told me that before! :smt094

If I ever have to do this job again, that is the route I will be taking though. :)

On another note, checked my plates yesterday, still looking lovely! :-D
