Question about sv650 on ebay
Looking on ebay for a bike for my dad, came accross this one but looking at the photos the front of the engine is silver not black seems a bit strange.
Any Ideas ? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...:X:RTQ:GB:1123  |
My sk1 curvey has a silver coloured engine.
Correction it's silver underneath the dirt. :-o Are they supposed to be black? |
Re: Question about sv650 on ebay
I was under the impression they was black they are black on my two curvy bikes.
Unless it was a sk1 thing. |
Re: Question about sv650 on ebay
Looks like the clutch covers been swapped for a later model one and the engine has been kept really clean, or vapour blasted.
Ignore my earlier post, I'd had a closer look. Looks like its been well looked after, unless its had a later model engine put in there, but with the carby rubbers instead of the injector manifolds |
Re: Question about sv650 on ebay

Re: Question about sv650 on ebay
My 99 model 650n has a black engine and twin pinch bolts on the os fork bottom, while juniors sk1 had a silver engine and a single pinch bolt.
This one seems to be a mixture of both. |
Re: Question about sv650 on ebay

Re: Question about sv650 on ebay
X and Y had the black engine (more a very dark grey really - the Y had wheels the same colour).
K1 and K2 were silver engines. Side cases were black on all curvy models. |
Re: Question about sv650 on ebay
If you hop over to http://www.sv650.org/
and hit the FAQ, there's a section about curvy year by year changes. The black cases & silver barrels & heads were stock for a year or 2. Clutch cover should be black though :) Jambo |
