What shall I do with this Honda?
 

Some time ago an H-reg Honda CBR400RR (NC29) was dumped at a property managed by the company I work for. I spoke to the DVLA and apparently it hasn't been taxed or SORNed since 2008. I'll check with the police to see if it was stolen or anything, but aside from the legal side of things what can we do with it? A couple of bits of bodywork are missing but other than that it looks complete. Do you think it's worth trying to save all or part of it?

Stick a notice on it that in 30 days unless the owner has come forward the bike will be removed and disposed of as it is on private land.

Once thats done, do with it as you will and apply for a new V5

I looked into this for a VF750R that has been dumped where I lived a few years ago and that was the advice given.

Call DVLA and confirm tho.

We did it with a van last year but with 3 day notice (parked across 3 pay bays) and the owner come up got a bill of 700 quid for criminal damage

check the lock stops and the harness to see if its nicked.

To get it running you'll need a lock with key to swap out the current one, fresh battery and fuel in a gravity setup if need be.

Make sure you've got some security bits for the lock, a mixed set is about a tenner if you need some
