1gt101dc -hall effect sensor
Anyone got one before I go and buy another one from RS?
Mine seems to have finally given up the ghost since my GSXR front end upgrade a couple of years ago :( On Friday it was reading as high as 186mph, now it's 0mph everywhere. I cleaned all the magnets over the weekend and checked as much of the wiring as I could (the connections are heatshrinked), but to no avail. |

Never mind, ordered a new one.

You checked the spacing of the bracket to the magnets and checked the magnets haven't lost their...magnetism!?!

Re: 1gt101dc -hall effect sensor
Yeah...magnets still very magnetic and spacing is fine.

Re: 1gt101dc -hall effect sensor
If the connections are properly heat shrinked then there shouldn't be a problem with them but there isn't a lot to go faulty in the sensor! Have you checked the connection under the tank? Sometimes waater ingress can cause problems in there as my ignition connection plays up sometimes because of this. Fingers crossed you get it sorted easily.

If I buy a hall sensor from Ebay that has red white and black wires which wires go where on my speedo wiring harness? On a 2003 sv650.

From memory
Bike - Sensor - (use) Orange-red - red - (regulated 12v feed from clocks) pink -white - (signal) black-white -black - (gnd) Actual 1GT101DC you get from farnell is not always colour coded. |
