GSXR750 K8 shock on Curvy?

Hello Guys I have used the search function and google which took me to a spreadsheet full of useful tech info. However I don't understand it what I am asking is will a Gsxr K8 750 shock be a worthwhile upgrade seen as I am 15 1/2 stone. I have been offered one for a decent price but don't want to buy it to find out its under sprung! Some of the figures on the spreadsheet were lower and others higher

so any input would helpful bike is a curvy

not unless your a midget like me. it's 17mm shorter.

what you want is a ZX10 04-05

not a good idea. thing is the damper rod might be to short so you run the risk of bottoming the shock out. 17mm will be 34mm at the back so you would need dogbones that raise 40mm (20mm shorter).

think you run the risk of completely mucking up the dampening curve. my advice is don't get the shock even if it is almost free its no good. save your pennies and get a proper shock or the ZX10 one.

It's the 06/07 zx10r rear shock you want.
It's pretty much a straight swap

You'd be right if the OP had a Pointy, but his sig says curvy. The 06-07 zx10r shock is undersprung for the curvy as the spring rate is 8.3 kg/mm compared to 9.1 kg/mm for stock (or #465 compared to #510). You don't wanna go softer than stock, especially at 15.5 stone.

The shock Bibio suggests may be more work to fit but will be a better solution once fitted IMHO.

I had a MK1 zx6 shock on mine, which made one hell of a difference, but then fell on a really cheap ZX10 shock (the one with the red spring) I think it was an 08 one, but not too sure. They both felt about the same. The ZX10 is easier to fit than the old ZX6 one.
I weigh about the same as you, so you should be ok with either
