Question on coil pack mounting
Hi all,
I have just got my race loom back from the custom loom builders and it looks spot on for what I need (nice and simple lol) I need to ask how I need to mount the coil packs though. I have them connected up to the loom via the connectors (which are cleverly set up do you can't get them the wrong way around) but do I need to earth the ends of them to the chassis I am using? I don't know if each end of the coil has just simply mounting holes or they should indeed be earthed to the frame/battery to function. I don't have a bike/frame to check how they were mounted. Thanks in advance |
Re: Question on coil pack mounting
Coils bolt to frame/engine. If you didn't have them on the frame then I'd be tempted to run some ring terminals from the mounting bolts back to earth.
Those different width spade connectors are standard. |
Re: Question on coil pack mounting
Thanks for confirming, I will make sure that they are earthed, might be able to earth it onto one of the custom engine mounts, will depend on how long the HT leads are on them lol

Re: Question on coil pack mounting
You can take leads off and make longer if needed

Re: Question on coil pack mounting
...... but try to keep them as short as you sensibly can.
