Curvy colour query.

Just not sure what colour the wifes bike is . It is a 1999 Vreg sv650s. It had the lowers fitted when purchased but the right lower was a lighter blue (like Impreza Blue) than the rest of the bike which is a darker Blue even purple looking in some light. I purchased a tin of Y7E Candy Jay Blue and sprayed the lower which to be honest just looks the same colour now as it did before spraying!!!!! Could the wifes bike be Grand CANDY Blue on a V Reg?........... Has somebody re sprayed the bike previously a diff colour?........ Can anybody confirm colour from pic, i know its not easy from photo, you can see the diff colour right fairing lower.
Cheers

no worries, have a look at my pics or if ya google image yc2 you should get loadsa hits. Sometimes things look a little different on comp screens though. Dark blue by sunlight, Purple at night is how i'd describe it. Tank has a pearlescent affect.

Had a look at loads of pics on tinternet they all look different to each other never mind her bike. I had the tank up this morning but the white sticker is that faded i cannot read it. I think it is going to be Candy Grand Blue as i say its a dark blue but then looks slightly purple at times.
Just the year through me as i was under the impression 1999 V reg model was candy jay blue.
Cheers

Candy Jay was the blue on the 99 "X" model.

I think you might have a 2000 "Y" model there - the giveaway being the dark graphite wheels (the X had silver wheels). Only the Y had the dark grey wheels, so if it is that model it'll be the darker blue for the year 2000 bike that you need.

Must agree i just had a mad moment and thought Vreg was just 1999 forgeting we were on 2 reg a year then, so V reg ran from Aug 1999 to Feb 2000 so yep it will be a 2000 Y model.
Thanks for all the replies much appreciated.

You would think the log book would be back after 3 weeks, give it another week and will chase.
