Scottoiler tubing question.
I'm finally getting round to fitting my old Scottoiler onto the SV. Now, the old clear delivery tubing that I have isn't going to be long enough for the job. I'd quite like to get the job done before the weekend is out so obviously don't have time to get new tubing direct from Scottoiler today.
Halfords have clear nylon screen wash tubing that appears to be identical in every respect but the packaging has a symbol suggesting it is only for use for H2O and not for fuel or oil. My suspicion is that this is just to prevent mentalists using it for petrol lines or hot oil lines etc but, to put my mind at rest, can you think of any reason why this nylon tubing would not be ok for the Scottoiler? |
Re: Quick Scottoiler tubing question
It should be perfectly fine. Nylon is quite unreactive and so is oil.

Re: Quick Scottoiler tubing question
As above, it's only acids that would be of concern to nylon, and I've yet to hear of that being used as a chain lubricant ;)

Re: Quick Scottoiler tubing question
Thanks - you have both confirmed my thinking. Alas, I then realised I was also short of vacuum pipe too so it'll have to wait til next weekend. Curses!
On the plus side... the wiring for the heated gloves is done. First test ride tomorrow! |

DONT TALK TO ME ABOUT HEATED GLOVES
Got caught in some nasty rain on my way to pick up some ACF50 Water ran down my arms into the gloves and I started getting loads of tiny shocks in my hands, had to turn them off. |
