Re: new to sv's fairings and exhaust advise please!
Hey, i am same as u just got an 05 sv650s in blue :) just mine aint got any problems, hope your get sorted soon :) i thinking of doing the same and the onky decent fairings i could find where these http://www.intobikes.co.uk/products/...05?mn=7&pt=165 may be a lil exspensive but heard they are good quality and fit perfect unlike some u get off ebay,
With exhaust it depends what u want in it? Stubby, high mout loud quite? And iF ure want it to make more power in which u would need a full exhaust system which will take some fitting or just a simple slip on, |
Re: new to sv's fairings and exhaust advise please!
mines blue aswell i think its still got some kind of restriction on it because it gets to 6500 revs then stops pulling.
im not really fussed on price if there good ill pay for it :) exhaust i would like it for power mainly but a sweet sound would be a bonus :) |
Re: new to sv's fairings and exhaust advise please!
Yeah so those fairings prob best if u got the money for them, and that not good, i wouldnt be able to tell what it like without restriction cause mine restricted with a throttle stop and washers on inlests or some, and well the exhaust ure looking at a full system, i dont know much about what full systems best cause i havent looked in to it as onky getting a slip on, but i know m4 do one, check google

Re: new to sv's fairings and exhaust advise please!
cheers ill take look those fairings look on but do you think they would come same colour as bike if you had met blue? iv seen diferent shades of blue?
wen i bought mine the said they had removed the throttle stop and that was the only restriction grrrr i was gutted wen i got on it and it started pullin then just stopped n could only get 80mph out of it :-( |
Re: new to sv's fairings and exhaust advise please!
Yeah there are 2 shades of blue but in 2005 they only made 1 of those which was the YC2 colour code, yeah i would check the intake then cause there no way it could only be restricted by a throttle stop :)n

Re: Pointy lower fairings and exhausts? Again.
ermax fairings on a blue 2003.
http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/IMG_4606.jpg they are pretty thick material, the paint is of good quality, the fittings are of equally good quality. mine didn't line up with the holes in the rad, no biggy, they haven't had bolts in for 2 years now and never had a problem. |

http://imageshack.us/a/img141/531/dsc00596ax.th.jpg It's a full system which takes out the cat-converter. With dyno time it came in at £800. There's a thread with the title 'M4 full exhaust arrives' or similar for the full story. |

You say first SV, is it also your first bike? If it is, then I would forget about the fairings, if you put them on then the bike gets hit by something or you drop it, then that a £500 repair bill there and then - which really pushed you towards it being written off. And unfortunately, as a new rider (if thats what you are) there is a good chance of you damaging them. As for an exhaust for more power, well a full system is expensive for not a lot of gain, and do you really need more power if you are just new to biking. The cheapest way of getting more power is to sell the SV and get something more powerful. However to reverse the doom and gloom of this post, good to see you are enjoying your new bike, if you add your location to your profile I am sure that people local to you will make themselves known and may even be able to take a look at your 6.5k rev problem. |
