Any riders/group ride outs in Shropshire area?
 

Hi all,

I'm new to the site and was wondering if there were many riders in and around Shropshire area? Particuarly interested in local female riders who would be happy to show me the ropes and or any local, decent routes around here as as not long passed my test, and clocked only few miles riding previously as a couple up North.. and im keen to start riding as part of the rideouts ready in time for Summer :) ... cheers

Don't think there are many ride outs that way - or anywhere at the moment. It's been a quiet winter after a bit of a wet / quiet / sh1tty riding year.

There are a few people in Shropshire, but I'm not too sure how often they come on here anymore.

Best thing to do is keep an eye out in the regional areas:
Border Partrol covers Shrops, but generally tends to be Cheshire and Liverpool way - although they tend to wonder into Wales quite a lot.
Might also be worth looking in the Madlanders section, but that seems to be more towards Birmingham / Coventry way.

Post up a hello thread in those sections and you'll see who's about.

Oh and have you got a curvy or a pointy?

Get yourself in the Border Patrol group, that's where us locals are.

There's a few of us around Crewe / Nantwich but I regularly ride around Shropshire and Whitchurch area.

Thanks Tommy, ok will have a look on Border Patrol to see how the ground lies. Ive got a pointy 04 .. trying to upload a pic at the moment..

Mine's always ready to go whenever it's not too cold and the gritters aren't out.

I was last out on the 23rd. Whereabouts in Shropshire are you from?

Mines ready to go most of the year... There just seems to be not much motivation for a group ride this time of year.

Your nearest lady riders are probably Shellywoozle and Speedyclaire (Staffordshire and Merseyside respectively), both lovely ladies who I'm sure would welcome along a new rider on the next rideout either of them do. They dont check the forum often though so drop them a PM and ask if they wouldn't mind letting you know when they are next going on a rideout and point you towards the appropriate thread. Sending a PM will alert them by email.

Hmm firstly congrats, best bike around is the pointy. I ride like a pussy, too scared to crash it again, well just can't lean into corners properly. If your fit enough I'll ride down to Shropshire for a ride out.



Being serious though, I need to go for a ride soon, use my bike all year round, but rarely go for a decent ride, Shropshire don't know the place, so I'm useless for a ride out your end. Look at the Pennine massive section,
