Shorty ASV Levers
Hi guys,
Just got a good condition second hand pair of Shorty ASV Levers for my K3 SV650S. Following the instructions was very easy and had both levers fitted in under 10 minutes. A bit of quick fiddling and I had the clutch in a decent position but I think I will be playing with this a little further to get the bite point just right. The standard break lever has 6 levels of adjustment for comfortable positioning where the standard clutch lever doesn't have any adjustment. Having small hands I always struggled to get the levers in to a comfortable resting position. The ASV levers have micro adjusters that provide fine tuning to the position of each lever at rest and has made reaching for either the break or clutch lever much more comfortable. With the standard levers, my little figure was only able to lever when I was already part way through breaking or pulling in the clutch. As such, I have gone for the shorty levers which provide enough lever for my remaining 3 fingers with the pinky finger having little to do. At first, it took a little getting used to but I'm quickly settling into it and it doesn't seem to be a problem. An added benefit is that if the bike does ever go on its side. The lever wont be so exposed to hitting the ground. If it does, the lever is spring loaded to go in the opposite direction meaning they should not break. So far I am very happy with them and after a little fine tuning of each, I will get them perfect :) Regards, Ravi |
