Re: R1 supercharged.
Its a pretty funky thing but a complete no go for me. I would need to have no money worries whatsoever before I would go near such a heavily modified bike. No matter what they say about reliability it probably wont be so running costs are likely to be scary not to mention insurance etc. Love a go of it though!...
Tonight I have been mostly looking at lightweight tents for my new summer hobby which will also be useful for trips away on the bike!... |
Re: R1 supercharged.
My boss had a supercharged R1. Mentally quick but didnt ride it as only came out on sunny days. Shame as was a very nice bike with a lot spent on it.

Re: R1 supercharged.
I only go to B & C Performance Tyres in Bolton for my bike work and new boots. Ive known the guys there for years as friends, well before they set up the business. Lee had talked about putting a turbo on his heavily modified 1200 Bandit. You might wanta quick read of this:
http://www.bandcperformancetyres.co.uk/turbo-project This bike did over 140mph wheelie recently at the world record attempts at Elvington. |
Re: R1 supercharged.
I could some damage with that. I could probably do some damage to that as well. Probably best I don't look at it anymore.

Re: R1 supercharged.
Definitely a future classic.
Hmmmmm. |
Re: eBay: R1 supercharged.
A bike mechanic I know (who's mentioned in one of the other threads) runs a turbocharged Hayabusa with circa 500bhp. He says it will power wheelie at 180mph but will get smoked off the line by pretty much anything as you can't get the power down until you reach motorway speeds, no matter how gentle you try to be.
As you'd expect, it's also no good for trackdays because the power delivery is so uneven. I've been offered a go on it but terrified I'd bin it, even with the boost turned down to 'only' 300-ish bhp! |
Re: eBay: R1 supercharged.
Hehehe, madness.
Probably not the worlds most practical everyday bike. Reliability wise, well if you use all that power a lot, you'll break something eventually but if you just ride it to pose on with the very occassional blast it'll probably be reet. |
