Angiogram

Had one today at the young age of 25. Put me right off recovery should be 48 hours but I had a massive bleed from my femoral artery, I lost just over one pint of blood they had to mop the floor. At one point I had 3 nurses putting pressure on the artery so hard they were shaking. Needless to say I'm bruised and in a lot of pain. I'm all ok now bt cover has doubled so no work till Wednesday worst of all no biking. Also have a sore wrist where they tried to go in first but after 6 attempts they went for he groin.

You will pleased to know my heart is absolutely fine.

Had a couple through the groin---did they let you watch on the screen? I got a right bollocking for getting up to go for a coffee when they put me in the recovery room.
I know I am Scottish but I am "Tight skinned" what ever that means but apparently my veins/arteries seal up almost immediately?

If you lost that much blood I bet you have a lovely bruise

Yeah I watched the procedure itself was fine no pain at all. Bruise it yet to fully come out, still a lot of dried blood as I can't wash yet either.

Jeez dude, glad you're ok.

Out of interest why did you have this done? As you've said heart above, what symptoms were you having?

Gws :)

I visited Chris8886 in hospital after his. He wriggled about in bed then triumphantly threw his skanky paper underpants in my face before I could take avoiding action.

Hope you are on the mend soon. And that whatever they were testing for can be fixed easily.

I get chest pain under physical exertion and have a long history of family heart disease at a young age so it was a precaution as they thought there was something on the ECHO I had. I have very high BP though which I have to go back in for.

So you'll probably be monitored fairly regular for the foreseeable future, hope it gets sorted for you, hereditary conditions can sometimes miss generations so not always doom and gloom.

It would appear the only hereditary condition I have acquired is high BP thankfully.
