Which heated grips?
Hey all, I know this has been discussed before, but could people please let me know which brand of heated grips is preferable.
I'm ignoring budget at the moment! |
I bought the ones off ebay that you sort of make yourself for £3 and there mint!

Re: Heated Grips
I have daytona heated grips on mine, with the following heat settings:
Off - too hot - not hot enough. The too hot is awesome on subzero days though, and on long blustery motorway commutes...trust me! |
Re: Heated Grips
Im running the oxford sports bike grips, have been using them for nearly 3 years now

Re: Heated Grips
Can you regulate the temperate manually on those ones? I'm looking for some for the triple

Re: Heated Grips
Oxford have 2 versions out now:
- light, cheaper, which have a similar 2 setting controller to the one above, - original, expensive but have a 5 way control setting. I'd advise you against R&G's. I bought a pair, but they are only getting warm (despite having a 5setting controller). I got a pair of Oxfords on here and they will be going on the bike, my previous pair lasted 40k miles on 2 bikes. The R&Gs will be going on here son if anyone wants some "warm" grips. |
Re: Which heated grips?
I fitted some Oxford "Hot Grips" a couple of months ago. They had the new 5 way controller. Work very well so far. My mate in work picked up a set from the NEC bike show for £45 so a very good price.
These have the voltage sensing feature which allows for direct connection to the battery and if left on in error will switch themselves off when the battery voltage drops. I did however connect using Bibio's accessory gizmo so switch on/off with the ignition. :thumright: My one gripe would be that the "Hot Grips" are quite a bulky grip and the rubber feels quite hard. I would personally fit the Oxford "Sports" next time as they're that bit thinner and feel more tactile like a standard grip. |
