Any GM mountain bikers?
As above. I go out at least once a week for some trail riding. I'm not a XC rider and prefer fast single track. I know Swinley forest quite well now so if you fancy a different type of ride out let me know.

Re: Any GM mountain bikers?
I used to do a load of cycling back when I lived up north. Haven't really had the chance to get back into it down here yet. Anything that let's me get sideways and I'm game. Used to do a bit of downhill so I prefer the less timid stuff. I also ride skateparks but I doubt many people do that here.

Re: Any GM mountain bikers?
I might be persuaded to join. Need to sort out a more suitable car. I'd say I like big XC. Don't mind the climbs and like the fast technical single track descents, but don't really like the full on DH (last time I did that the mountain won).

Re: Any GM mountain bikers?
One of my mates lives up near Swinley. 'spect I'll get up there when the weather is a bit betterer. I ride Queen Elizabeth Country Park mainly. Good mix of trails up there. Got a Cannondale f800 with a lefty fork for tooling about on and a Ragley Piglet with full xt and Hope discs and finishing kit for best.

Re: Any GM mountain bikers?
Well sounds like a couple of us then. Swinley is a bit of a maze so I'm going to try and learn where all the trails are (they keep closing old ones off and building new ones). I ride a banged up Trek Fuel EX8 with crap brakes and rubber queen tractor tyres that hate going up hills. I am hoping to treat myself to a carbon On One Lurcher with the cycle to work scheme for more XC riding but my bank balance and 3 other push irons don't think it's a good idea.
I'm up for a ride out at your (anyone's) local trails if its not a million miles away. |
Re: Any GM mountain bikers?
Do it Winder. The correct number of bikes is N+1 (where N is the number you currently own). I got me an On-One Inbred. Absolutely love it. Not a lazy man's ride though, No gears, no suspension.
Also got a 10 year old Rocky mountain full suss. |
