Brake light not working

So, my brake light is not coming on when I use the front brake, works fine when I use the back brake.

I have changed the switch, still not working.
I have tried connecting the two pins and the light doesnt come on, so that suggests to me that there is a dodgy wire/connection somewhere along the line.

I dont know what else I can try, other than following the wires all the way to the light to see where it goes wrong :smt013

Yep.
Wiring schematic for your Model of bike (google image search) and Elecrical Multimeter to bell out the circuit look to be required. If everything else works though it's likely to be in the switch gear wiring or it's connection to the Loom.

Any idea where to start?

The two wires that run from the switch go into the loom next to the switch gear, short of tearing apart the whole loom to find the gremlin I'm not sure what to try.

This would help with specifics, but all the same:

Identify which wires in the right switchgear to loom connector are the brake light switch wires, bridge them on the loom side, does the light work?

If yes, then the fault lies either at the connector, or the cabling from there to the switch.
If no, then seeing as it can be a pain in the rear to search for a wire broken or damaged in the loom, so other than a quick look to see if there is some obvious external damage that gives away the location of the fault, I wouldn't get into the loom to fix it so;

Refit the switchgear connector, is there a live at either switch connection?

If yes, then the broken wire is the one that goes to the bulb. Take a new wire from somewhere suitable on the front switch wire to the same wire on the rear switch.
If no, then using a wiring diagram find the closest electrical component fed from the same fuse. Take a new wire from the feed to that component to the front switch.

of course you've checked the "known issue" of the rubbing areas on the loom first...right :smt102

the highly secret issues no one every mentions of course.....#-o

try looking up "known"/"common"/"wiring"/ "fault"/ "rubbing" and any other permutations you can think of.

Cheers Mark.
