Unsure Insurance?
OMO,
Just changed my insurer, can I make a claim for damage sustained before I changed? |
Re: Unsure Insurance?
Might have issues with your no claims.
Check your contract, a lot of them have a very limited period after the accident to claim in or at least notify them. I certainly don't think you could claim off your NEW insurer. |
Re: Unsure Insurance?
Protected for 2 claims or one accident, not sure what the difference is between damage and accident?
Yeah I'm not thinking I can, just looking for a definitive answer one way or the other. |
Re: Unsure Insurance?
Windscreen damage and stuff usually.
But you'd still have an issue since you should have notified your new insurer about the accident even if you didn't claim... And I think we all know that you didn't as none of us would either. |
Re: Unsure Insurance?
There was no accident, Just the demented bint at Tesco that hit the Ace with her trolley, the damage is progressive, it keeps getting worse every time I ride!
BTW, can have as many windscreens as I need for the car without affecting ncb, not sure how many windscreens your Ace has but I ain't got one! By windscreens and stuff do you mean body work repair? Coz that is what I need for the Ace! |
Re: Unsure Insurance?
I think your new insurer won't be interested unless you lie and say it just happened and you're probably out of time limit with your old insurer.
Either way I think it would come close to writing the bike off. |

BTW fair point on windscreen, but I always think just "screen" is more appropriate, I assumed you'd had a brain fart and were talking cage! |
Re: Unsure Insurance?
oh yeah, they'd pay out. Depends how they value the bike i think they usually repair up to 60% of the value (maybe thats just cars).
Well the screen is for the wind. What i was getting at was that its for damage that isn't caused by you hitting other cars, like paint damage etc (i think) |
Re: Unsure Insurance?
For the miles and year book price is £1200, so should be ok on that and it was a shopping trolley so how do they work that out?
All I wanted was a definite yes or no answer to the op. |
