Bar end weight fixings?
Morning All,
I’ve lost one of the bar ends on my bike. I purchased some aftermarket ones on eBay, but it appears I’ve also list the inner ‘sleeve’ which the bolt secures itself into, as the new ones don’t seem to fix to anything. Do you know where I can pick one of these up from or what they’re called exactly? Ideally, if anyone has a bike they’re breaking, I’d love to get these from you. Thanks Dan |

Im in exactly the same situation. I lost a bar end and replaced it with some genuine Suzuki ones but they just dont seem to fix to anything. In the bar itself, there looks to be a recess of some sort where perhaps a nut sits for the bolt to screw to but I just cant get the bar ends to fix to anything at all.

Is it curvy or pointy. My curvybhas threaded hole for an M6 bolt in each bar.

Re: Bar end weight fixings?
It's a bit of a weird one really. My clip ons off the pointy are hollow most of the way down. My bar ends were attached to bungs inside the clip-on that I assumed tightened up as you turned the screw but not sure if that was the case, as, although they never looked like coming loose, could be nudged out of place quite easily which was annoying. Here's a pic of them to maybe help.

The curvy ones are a threaded nut into the clip-on.
Pointies use a rubber as a interference fit into the hollow clip-on |
Re: Bar end weight fixings?
The rubber wedge gets squeezed which makes it stick to the inside of the bar. A simple but effective method of doing it.
My bar ends did not fit into my new Renthal, so I cheated and used concrete fixings. https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.n...93422859_n.jpg Pouring half a tonne of concrete for them to sit in was a mistake though! |
